  • Unlisted Foreign Transaction fee for booking within US on Otel.com

    I booked a room for my son and I in Chicago next week through Otel.com. My credit card was charged appropriately (though today, the rate list is $20 lower than 3 days ago). This morning, when checking my account, I see that I was charged an additional fee listed only as Foreign Transaction Fee. Though not a lot of money, it is disturbing to know that Otel.com doesn't list that they are located in Turkey on their website for that an additional fee will be charged.   • Otel.com Ruined My Vacation

    I booked a hotel through Otel.com for Amsterdam, my credit card was charged and I received a confirmation from them. When I arrived at the hotel, they could not find my reservation and had no rooms available as it was a busy season. Apparently, Otel.com took my money, but did not actually make the reservation with the hotel.I had to book another hotel outside of the city with a much lower star rating at a much higher rate.     On February 2014 I booked my hotel in Orlando through otel.com. Because the hotel i want to stay was cheap there. I don't feel confident while using my credit card in online shopping.     I really advise everybody NOT to book a hotel through otel.com. Not realizing that it was otel.com and not hotel.com, I booked a hotel with them. The 1100 $ US were immediately withdrawn from my credit card, but I did not receive any confirmation. When I contacted the hotel, they did not have any bookings in my name.   • Had to wait one month for refund

    Booked a hotel lwith them. Three hours before checking in I got an email NOT a phone call telling me that they could not honour this booking due to an overbooking ts this hotel. If I hadn't checked my email I would never have known. I was told my money would be refunded within 3-7 days. As it was a very expensive hotel I kept checking my bank for the refund.   • DHR took my money after a failed booking.

    On 05/10/2013, £94.49 was took out of my account for a booking that I have received no details about. When I tried to make the booking, the website told me it was not possible, however the money has still been removed. I did not have an account with DHR and therefore received no e-mails. Yes, I have checked my junk folder. I have had to make an account in an attempt to get in touch with them.     Needed hotel in Quebec City in lower old town. Decided on Le St. Pierre based on price, TripAdvisor and other sources. Hotel website said no availability on the dates we wanted.     I have been cheated by otel.global by over 800 %u20AC. In December 2012 I made a reservation in Hotel fortaleza do Guincho through otel.com (metglobal) for the period June 14 %u2013 24 , 2013, six months in advance that was fully charged in my credit card and confirmed on Dec. 17 I checked in the hotel June 14, but, unfortunately, we had to check out June 17 due to illness.     Recently made a hotel booking through Otel.com to stay 4 nights at Renaissance Kuala lumpur from 21st - 25th Sept. Confirmation of booking was received and the full amount was taken from our credit card. As we were looking forward for the stay at this hotel we noticed that there has been a refund of whole amount approx 3 weeks after the initial deduction of amount by Otel.com.     I had read some reviews where people arrived at hotels and there was no record of the reservation. I called my hotel twice to see if it had come through but it had not.     So, I booked a room last night for tomorrow's trip to Portland, OR. Every decent/deal hotels in downtown were booked out on all other websites except otel.com.     I booked a hotel in Ireland through RyanAir and the deal included a EUR10 RyanAir voucher. The RyanHotel web site transferred me to Oyel.com where I made the booking. Otel.com says that they will provide the vouchers in 10 days after the stay. When I never received the voucher I sent a message on the Otel.com website asking for it and quoting my reference number.     Appalling! I booked a trip to San DIego a day in advance. Nowhere did it say that it was non refundable OR that there would be a cancellation charge!! I cancelled an hour later after having severe abdominal pain. Got an email the next morning that there was a late charge. SPoke to customer service and they said it was non refundable!! Wth?     What an abosolute nightmare! Booked a hotel in Virginia for a great rate. Then was emailed that i needed to fax my personal id and credit card to Tokyo for verification! No possibility!     They changed the dates on my reservation then when I called customer service they were not only extremely rude they refused to correct the issue or refund my money when the reservation was set for a month out on there behalf I reserved the room for the same day I made the reservation and when I received my confirmation email the days of the week and dates were changed.     Two days ago, I booked a room at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas for 2 nights on June 12 thru 14. I came back to their website and couldn't find my booking. I called their customer service website and they said the provider cancelled the booking. He claimed that the rooms must not have actually been available.     My partner just booked a hotel room through this company. We then called the hotel and discovered there was no room reserved for us. We attempted to get a confirmation number from Otels.com on their landline. They only use a "tracking number" which of course is not recognized by the hotel.     Recently Booked several room with Otel.com. We found the best prices on their site to book a block of rooms, meaning we wanted several rooms for several nights. 1-day after booking the room, my bank called to verify fraudulent activity.     I have booked a hotel in Zürich today. After I submitted my credit card information and pressed the submit button I got redirected to the homepage.     This ticket has been resolved or replied to by this company. I recieved confirmation for my reservation which has been payed for in full. Two days after recieving this confirmation, Otel.com's fraud department emailed me requesting copies of my passport, bank card and bank statements as they need to verify my identity..     I was a little concerned about having booked through Otel.com after having read some of the reviews. I am, however, very pleased to say they were terrific in every aspect of their service. I booked a hotel in Vancouver at the site of a convention. I called the hotel to ensure they had my reservation and was assured by the hotel it was "all good".     Otel.com's price is cheap compared to other sites like Expedia but then cheap means they have no customer service.     Booked hotel online - at least I thought I had until I looged onto the account to see no bookings. When I called I was told that a system error occurred and I'd be refunded. Then the line went so called back... Was then told that hotel was fully booked so I'd be refunded. Will take TWO WEEKS and any problems I have with this I need to talk to my own bank. Never use such a site. Booked a one week vacation at Le Sport/The Body Holiday in St. Lucia. from Feb. 6-12. Received confirmation of booking by email. Only otels.com did not confirm with Le Sport. We flew 5 hours from Toronto, 1 hour 45 min cab to hotel only to find there is no booking and no availability all week! After talking via long distance (with roaming fees of course on my cell) to Rachel, Marie and Vic at otels.com we only receive a verbal apology for ruining our planned vacation. We are both professionals, unpaid when we take time off work, left our kids with family and then are stuck without the vacation we planned and paid for with only an offer to take us to a 3 star hotel (Le Sport is 5 star, recently renovated with activities, yoga, wellness and spa treatments included as part of your package), in Rodney Bay. Needless to say our plans were not for a tour of Rodney Bay and this lack of service ruined an expensive and planned vacation. Otels.com offered to give our money back(very kind-thank you) and Vic stated we would get an email within 24 hours regarding compensation. It is now Feb. 9. We also got a copy from Le Sport of an email sent to otels.com stating that there was no rooms available for our stay Feb. 6 but of course otels.com chose NOT to share that with us and happily confirmed our reservation and charged our credit card. I am disappointed that such a poor service continues on the internet.

Early 2011 Otel.com charged me $600+ for what Yellowstone Snow Lodge itself was charging $400.
i.e. Otel.com charged me a $200 booking fee for a two night stay.
Otel.com refused to refund any of the exorbitant booking fee, somehow blaming the hotel for the error.
As a result Xantera no longer allows GTA/Otel.com to sell any rooms for them. Nevertheless one must assume they play the same game with other hotel chains so look elsewhere.

I talked to one of your colleagues in your Turkish headquarters today.
Her name is elif. She told me she had upgraded us to full board for
our entire stay at the marina suites hotel in gran canaria. We have
had several problems since attempting to do business with your company
otel.com. These are as follows.
1. We were told via e mail the your company had no availability at the
marina suites. You then proceed to charge our credit card 1008
dollars. We found this out on arrival at the marina suites having
booked with another company. On attempting to pay our credit card was
declined as your company Had charged us for a service you yourselves
said you could not provide. On questioning we were told by your
company (macy in your Spanish office) the best you could do would be
to give a refund but the money would not be available to us for 5-7
working days. No apology given.
2. We rang head office in turkey. Talked to elfi. No apology. Same
story as before. At this stage we informed you that we have no money
available to us for food drink etc. We suggested that you upgrade us
to full board until our credit card has been refunded and. That this
should be done entirely at your companys expense. We were informed by
elfi today that you have upgraded us to full board for 9 days but that
this will be deducted from our refund! Again you have used our credit
card without being authorised. We have asked the hotel to cancel full
board and refund you immediately however we are still left with no
money, no solution and no apology to a problem
Caused entirely by your company. We expect an immediate reply in the form
Of a phone call or e mail with your response as at this stage our holiday
Has been ruined.

Avoid like the plague........... Took money off my card straight away, a couple of pounds more than quoted, they said it was exchange rate difference. Two days later then sent me email to say could not honar hotel, was fully booked. I called hotel had lots of rooms left, they said there allocation had been taken up, Even though when booking it stated had the vacancy. Was a good price about £200.00 cheaper then anywhere else.... Can see why now... It took 10 days for the money to go back onto my account. In this time all the offers that were on with other companies had then gone up in price. Lost out another £12.00 with exchange difference with money going back into my account. So in the end I had to pay full price for the hotel..... which in total this company cost me an extra |£420.00. DO NOT USE THEM, PROMISE THE WORLD DELIVER NOTHING.... COSTS YOU LOADS..... You might say choose a different hotel, but when you have been there before and you like it, why should you change hotel, for some scam of a company.
